1. Avoid rushing to click airdrop links#

Many users rush to click on airdrop links released by project parties, ignoring that the social media accounts of the project or KOLs may have been hacked. For example, projects like eigenlayer and puffer have encountered such incidents, leading to a proliferation of phishing links. My approach is to wait until 3-5 well-known KOLs post the same airdrop information before checking with a secondary account (never use your main account to lead the way).

2. Be cautious when participating in projects that require downloading Chrome extensions#

Previous cases have shown that malicious Chrome extensions can steal user cookies, leading to account password leaks. Unless necessary, do not install extensions casually.

3. Refuse projects that require software downloads#

Last year, several of my small wallets were stolen because I installed mining software on my device, which later turned out to be a trojan. Since then, I skip all projects that require downloading desktop software, even if they need to run in a virtual machine.

4. Do not store large assets in airdrop wallets#

This point goes without saying: airdrop wallets should only hold acceptable amounts of funds, and do not transfer all assets from exchanges into them!

5. Do not update fingerprint browsers unless necessary#

Based on previous experiences with stolen ads, do not update fingerprint browsers or other desktop software unless necessary. Many features are tied to versions, and you cannot predict which update will introduce vulnerabilities rather than improvements.

6. Download fingerprint browser extensions only from the Chrome store#

Also stemming from the ads issue, supply chain poisoning attacks indicate that there are risks with applications from app stores. All Chrome extensions must be installed through the official store to avoid obtaining them from Baidu or Google search results.

7. Do not ask others for installation packages#

Many users in the crypto community are accustomed to asking others for installation packages, such as VPNs, emulators, or assistant tools. However, this is not a good habit; malicious individuals may provide installation packages containing trojans, leading to account damage.

8. Handle wallet authorizations with caution#

Last year, I almost fell for a scam: after the project party's account was hacked, a phishing link was posted containing a "claim" button, which directly triggered asset transfer authorization upon clicking. Once confirmed, the wallet was emptied. Therefore, always check carefully before authorizing wallet operations!

9. Use a new wallet when importing#

For most projects (such as wallet applications or new platform launches) that require wallet imports, I always insist on using a newly created wallet.
